Staying in this Halloween? Add some freight to your night with these ghostly white chocolate peanut butter Rice Krispie treats!
Don't you dare serve regular Rice Krispie treats this year when you can give them a scare!
Anyone can make these super easy ghost decorations...all that is required is a spoon or a skewer...that's it, seriously!
Place 4 ounces of white chocolate in a bowl over simmering water and stir occasionally until melted, remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons of peanut butter; set aside.
Grease a 13x9" pan with non-stick cooking spray or butter, set aside.
Spray a very large bowl with non-stick cooking spray and add 7 cups of Rice Krispie cereal; set aside.
In a large saucepan or dutch oven melt 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter over low heat.
Add 16-ounces of marshmallows and melt stirring frequently until smooth.
Stir the white chocolate peanut butter mixture into the melted marshmallows.
Scrape the marshmallow mixture over top of Rice Krispie cereal and stir until completely combined.
With a clean rubber spatula that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray press the rice cereal mixture into the prepared pan evenly.
Place 10-12-ounces of dark chocolate in a bowl over simmering water and stir occasionally until melted, remove from heat and pour over the bars.
Spread into an even layer.
To make the spooky ghosts melt 5-ounces of white chocolate in a bowl over simmering water and stir occasionally until melted.
Spoon small dollops of white chocolate onto the bars and use the back of a spoon or a skewer to gently drag the white chocolate into a ghost shape.
Dip a skewer into dark chocolate and carefully make eyes and a mouth for each ghost.
The best part, if you make a mistake just add a tad bit more chocolate over your mess up and try again to create the shape you want.
Chill cereal bars in the fridge until chocolate is set, about 15-20 minutes.
Use a sharp knife to cut around the edges and also around each ghost.
Enjoy your spooky treat!
