<font size="4"><b>Celebrate National Hamburger Day with this perfectly pan seared beef patty piled high with caramelized onions, melty cheese, and zesty stone ground mustard.</b></font>

Grab a few napkins to tuck into your collar for this one because you'll need it! Say goodbye to the normal old hamburger toppings like lettuce and tomatoes...and hello to French Onion Soup between two buns.  

Wow, your guests at a cookout by making these on a grill or kick up your weeknight burger game a notch with these babies!

Yields1 Serving

 1 lb ground chuck
 2 tsp worcestershire Sauce
 1 tsp parsley
 ½ tsp garlic powder
 ½ tsp fresh thyme
 ¼ tsp black pepper
 2 tbsp olive oil
 1 large onion
 1 tsp sugar
 2 tbsp red wine
 4 slices of Muenster Cheese
 4 sices of Swiss Cheese
 4 potato buns
Other Ingredients:
 stone ground mustard
 mayo
 salt to taste

Seasoning the Patties . . .

In a medium bowl combine 1 pound of ground chuck, 1-2 teaspoons of parsley, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of chopped fresh thyme, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.

Form into 4 patties and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Caramelizing the Onions . . .

Cook 1 large onion sprinkled with 1 teaspoon of sugar in a skillet over medium heat until caramelized, about 15 minutes.

Add 2 tablespoons of red wine and cook 5 more minutes.

Cooking the Burgers . . .

Heat an oven-safe skillet to medium-high and add the beef patties.

Cook for 4-5 minutes until a crust forms, flip and continue to cook another 4-5 minute.

Remove from heat and top each patty with 1 slice of Swiss Cheese and 1 slice of Muenster Cheese.

Place oven safe pan with patties under a preheated broiler for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted.

Remove from pan and let rest for 4-5 minutes.

Assemble burger by placing on the bottom bun, pile on the onions, and smear top bun with mayonnaise and stone ground mustard.
